Abstract 8 (Sides A & B) As is obvious upon initial viewing side A is successful by the last few marks placed on by a determined hand. I liked the pastel fog that was created by the billows of highly thinned pigments saturating the cloth. Color has always been a good excuse to cover an open spot on my wall. Side B took that billowy background and placed a series of incidents upon it's foreground. The details of this one kind of remind me of those pre-renaissance works where one scene is stacked upon another. There is no illusion of spatial relationships other than as objects placed next to each other. |
