Fire
This painting is basically finished. There are details to be added and things to be cleaned but I need some distance from it for a bit to decide which those are.

If you are having trouble with the bottom half... The next time you are sitting in front of an open fire look at the other side of the fire through the flames, but not at the flames. Watch as the invisible heat warps the background... I am making an allegory of what happens with those invisible waves. <- The heart of the fire.

(my) Painting Statement

A painting is a unique object that hangs on the wall of the buyers choice.

It has a virtual surface that can vary in thickness (usually) greater than that of photographs and prints.

It is a creation totally dependent upon it's creators sensitivities, demeanor, and skill at pushing, placing, scraping, (whatever) pigment over a surface.

It is also my belief that each painting is an entity apart. Every painting has it's rules and regulations built right into its makeup. My consistency of approach is about how I deal with each paintings content. In my works the content drives the approach. If the content defines its self in my mind as a landscape then I will paint a landscape (See: The Distance Between series). If the content is just pure design then I will treat it with abstraction (See: ConstraAb). If the content is about an abstract concept I will try my best to create an image (See: Intent into Life), or a set of images(See: The Meek Test series), that can relate my ideas to the viewer in the most common of terms. I've found poems / riddles also help me define my ideas.
