Their novelty is that you can see everything around you. And their biggest selling points are that they go everywhere, very fast, and they’re free.
Jeremiah and M-1 enter the private twelve nut capacity capsule. He motions for M-1 to choose a seat. He then chooses one on the opposite side and one seat further from it.
The Tube capsule closes its doors and activates its inertial dampers. It then glides forward; rapidly achieving its full speed in less than three seconds. Its two passengers experience no change in momentum.
Jeremiah looks directly at M-1, “Do you mind if I take a look at your book?”
“Do you have a gateway I can access?”
“Yes.” Jeremiah opens his ambassadorial robe at the neck and pulls out an ornate data-chain necklace. Suspended from this chain is a large institutional grade computing medallion: Two silver angelic figures with wings in flight hover above a golden feminine figured tree. Her branches are ripe with mobile crystal memory components. Her roots lead into and around a small 250 layers, ultra thin, Bucky Grid: triangular shaped – base upwards, point downwards. At the bottom tip of the triangle is a circular indentation and a tiny set of three pin holes - also in a triangular configuration. Jeremiah holds this out to M-1.
M-1 reaches out touching the indentation with the index finger of its left hand while speaking, “These stories are derived solely from the memories of its principal character, Vihkie. There is truth in each story though not every story is true.” M-1 pulls its hand back, “Done.” it says.
Ambassador Tahn looks suspiciously at the medallion and then glares at M-1.
M-1 waggles its head, its sensor band displaying various shades of blue to blue-green with blooms of red-orange, green, gold, and bronze. “Trust me ambassador Tahn. I am not here to infect your systems with a deadly virus. My interests in ownership are nowhere near those kinds of expectations.”
As Jeremiah moves to speak he changes his direction and lowers his hands, frowning distractedly. He then sits back into his seat and begins to access the new data. After a moment or two and without looking at M-1 he tells it, “Thank you, we will consider this information before we continue.”
M-1 laughs quietly (quickly blooming clouds of light blue pulsing on a field of beige). After which it pushes its hips forward and relaxes back into its seat, stretching its legs out in front, crossing them at the ankles.
A moment or two later it reaches up and places its hands “behind” its head.
Its sensor band begins to take on muted colors and tones.
